The JET 690006 is a vertical knee milling machine supplied with an X-axis powerfeed unit already installed at the factory. The JTM-2 mill is a manual knee mill designed for precision metal removal in job shop, toolroom, and light production environments. It combines a rigid column and knee casting with a motorized table feed on the X-axis, reducing operator fatigue during extended milling operations. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance shops use this machine for face milling, end milling, drilling, and boring work on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The unit ships as a complete assembly at approximately 2,200 pounds.
The JTM-2 is suited for toolroom and job shop installations where a full-size knee mill with integrated power feed is required. The factory-installed X-axis powerfeed eliminates the need for a field retrofit, making it ready for production use on arrival. Typical applications include flat surface milling, slot cutting, and contour work on steel, aluminum, and similar materials. This machine is appropriate for both dedicated production cells and general-purpose machining bays in industrial facilities.
Designed as an OEM-configuration vertical knee milling machine; consult JET documentation for compatible tooling arbors, collet systems, and accessory tables appropriate for the JTM-2 spindle specification.
Installation requires a licensed or qualified millwright and should follow all applicable OSHA machine-tool installation standards and local facility safety codes. The machine weighs approximately 2,200 pounds and requires appropriate rigging equipment, a forklift or crane, and a level, reinforced concrete floor capable of supporting the load. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power at the panel before making any wiring connections to the powerfeed or spindle motor. Do not attempt to move or position the machine without proper rigging hardware rated for the full machine weight.
