The JET 321391 is a heavy-duty gap-bed engine lathe configured with a 300S digital readout (DRO) and a taper attachment with collet closer. This combination makes it a capable machine for precision turning, facing, threading, and taper work across a wide range of metalworking applications. The integrated DRO provides real-time axis position feedback, reducing setup time and improving repeatability on production and job-shop work. At 5,925 pounds, this is a full-size floor machine intended for professional installation in a machine shop environment. It is sold as a complete unit including the lathe, DRO system, taper attachment, and collet closer assembly.
The GH-1660ZX platform is a 16-inch swing, 60-inch between-centers engine lathe suited for industrial and commercial machine shops, toolrooms, and maintenance facilities. It handles general-purpose turning as well as precision work requiring taper cuts or collet-held workpieces. The collet closer expands workholding flexibility for bar stock and smaller diameter parts, while the taper attachment enables accurate taper turning without offsetting the tailstock. This configuration is appropriate for facilities running production runs or custom one-off machining where accuracy and repeatability are critical.
Designed as a complete OEM-configured unit for the JET GH-1660ZX engine lathe platform. The 300S DRO, taper attachment, and collet closer are matched to this lathe from the factory.
Installation of this machine requires a qualified millwright or machinery mover due to its weight of 5,925 pounds. The machine must be leveled on a reinforced concrete floor using precision leveling pads or mounts prior to operation. Electrical connection should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for the specified voltage and phase. Confirm all guards, covers, and safety interlocks are properly installed and functional before initial power-on.
