The JERGENS 49702 is a primary ball lock modular fixturing liner designed for use in precision workholding and modular fixturing systems. It serves as the receiver component that accepts a ball lock shank, allowing fast and repeatable fixture location changes on machine tool tables and fixture plates. The liner has an outside diameter of 1.3772 inches, an inside diameter of 20mm, and is compatible with plate thicknesses of 1 inch. With a plate thickness tolerance of plus or minus 0.0050 inches, this liner maintains the close tolerances that production and toolroom environments demand. Installation is performed by machinists and tooling specialists working with modular fixturing setups.
This liner is suited for production machining, inspection fixturing, and toolroom applications where rapid changeover and repeatable part location are required. It is pressed or installed into fixture plates, tombstones, or subplates as the stationary receiving element of a ball lock quick-change fixturing system. The 20mm ID accepts standard ball lock shanks used throughout the JERGENS Ball Lock system family. Facilities running high-mix, low-volume machining operations benefit most from this style of modular fixturing component.
Designed as an OEM-style component for use in ball lock modular fixturing systems with a 1 inch plate thickness and 20mm shank diameter. Compatible with standard JERGENS Ball Lock system components per the system specifications in the input data.
Installation is typically performed by a machinist or tooling engineer. The liner is pressed into a bored hole in the fixture plate, so ensure the bore diameter matches the liner OD to the required fit class before pressing. Verify the plate thickness falls within the stated tolerance before installation. Always confirm the fixturing system is fully de-energized and the machine tool is locked out before servicing or replacing any fixturing liner.
