The JERGENS 36105 is a tang square spring locating stop designed for precision workholding and fixture applications. The unit features a zinc aluminum alloy body measuring 1.5 inches wide by 1 inch long, with a low carbon steel stop head that measures 7/8 inch wide by 1-1/8 inches tall by 1/4 inch thick. The spring mechanism delivers a 14.4-pound initial end force and a 14-pound middle end force, providing consistent, repeatable part location under production conditions. The 3/16-inch stroke length accommodates normal part loading and unloading cycles. Licensed machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this component.
This locating stop is suited for use in machining fixtures, assembly jigs, and automation tooling where a spring-loaded stop is needed to index or retain a workpiece. The tang profile allows secure mounting in a mating slot, and the 1-1/8-inch distance between mounting hole centers aligns with standard fixture plate layouts. It is appropriate for light-duty to medium-duty fixture applications in both job-shop and production environments where repeatable workpiece positioning is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for standard spring locating stop applications in machining fixtures and tooling plates that accept a tang-style mounting profile.
Installation is typically performed by toolmakers or fixture builders during fixture assembly or maintenance. Disengage all machine power and relieve any clamping pressure before removing or installing locating stops in an active fixture. Standard hand tools are sufficient for installation; consult fixture design drawings for correct orientation of the tang in the mounting slot. Verify that the stop head travel is unobstructed through its full 3/16-inch stroke before returning the fixture to service.
