The JERGENS 30372 is a short-body threaded spring plunger designed for controlled positioning, indexing, and light detent applications in mechanical assemblies. It features an M6 x 1.00 thread with a 16 mm thread length, a Delrin nose tip with a maximum diameter of 3.02 mm, and a 4 mm plunger projection. The steel body carries a black finish and includes a locking element to secure the plunger in the threaded bore once positioned. Initial end force is 0.23 kg and final end force is 2.72 kg, making this unit appropriate for light-duty detent and panel alignment tasks.
This spring plunger is suited for use in fixtures, jigs, machine panels, and tooling assemblies where repeatable positioning or light retention force is required. The M6 x 1.00 thread makes it compatible with standard metric threaded bores. The short plunger length type and compact body length of 16 mm allow installation in space-constrained assemblies. Industrial maintenance technicians, tool and die makers, and machine builders are the typical installers in both production and MRO settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit spring plunger for standard M6 x 1.00 metric threaded bores in fixture, jig, and tooling applications.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger body into a pre-tapped M6 x 1.00 bore using a hex wrench or spanner tool appropriate for the body diameter. De-energize or lock out any machine before servicing plungers in powered assemblies. The locking element should be engaged after final position is confirmed to prevent backing out under vibration. Do not exceed the rated end force by modifying the plunger spring or overtightening the body.
