The JERGENS 26707 is a short threaded spring plunger designed for positioning, indexing, and locking applications in industrial assemblies and fixtures. It features a 1/2-13 thread with a 13/16 inch thread length and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.248 inches, delivering a 1/4 inch projection when engaged. The steel body and steel nose provide durability under repeated cycling. A built-in locking element prevents the plunger from backing out under vibration or load, making it well suited for machine fixtures, jigs, and tooling where consistent detent force is required. Initial end force is 2.5 pounds and final end force is 15 pounds.
This plunger is used in manufacturing and fabrication environments wherever a compact, threaded detent or positioning element is needed. Its short plunger length classification and standard 1/2-13 thread make it a straightforward installation into tapped holes in fixture plates, machine bases, and workholding components. The black finish provides a degree of corrosion resistance for shop-floor conditions. Maintenance technicians and tooling engineers commonly install this component during fixture builds or refurbishment.
Designed as a standard threaded spring plunger for use in tapped 1/2-13 holes in industrial fixtures, jigs, tooling plates, and machine components requiring a short-body detent or indexing element.
Install using a hex key or appropriate driver into a clean, fully tapped 1/2-13 hole. Ensure the receiving assembly is de-energized and, where applicable, secured before servicing or replacing plunger components in live tooling or automated fixtures. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the locking element or distort the plunger housing. Confirm plunger projection and end force are appropriate for the intended detent load before finalizing the installation.
