The JBL PROFESSIONAL CONTROL 226C/T is a coaxial in-ceiling speaker designed for commercial and professional audio distribution installations. Coaxial driver configurations place the high-frequency transducer concentrically within the low-frequency cone, resulting in a tightly controlled dispersion pattern and coherent time alignment between drivers. This speaker is suited for installations where consistent coverage and voice intelligibility are required, including paging, background music, and distributed sound systems. It is typically specified and installed by low-voltage audio contractors or licensed electrical professionals working to commercial AV standards.
The CONTROL 226C/T is intended for in-ceiling installation in commercial environments such as offices, retail spaces, hospitality venues, and similar facilities. The 6-inch coaxial driver configuration makes it appropriate for drop-ceiling and hard-lid ceiling applications where moderate throw and broad coverage are needed. The C/T designation indicates this model includes both direct-impedance and transformer-tapped wiring options, making it compatible with both low-impedance and 70-volt or 100-volt distributed audio systems.
Designed as an OEM-style in-ceiling speaker for commercial distributed audio systems supporting both low-impedance and 70-volt or 100-volt configurations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage audio contractor or licensed electrician in accordance with applicable local codes and NEC Article 640 governing audio signal distribution equipment. Power the amplifier or distribution system off completely before making any wiring connections at the speaker terminals. Verify ceiling material load ratings before cutting and mounting the speaker backcan. Do not exceed the transformer tap wattage ratings when connecting to a 70-volt or 100-volt distributed system.
