The JB INDUSTRIES US3-610 is a threaded-to-sweat adapter fitting used to transition between a 3/8 inch female flare (FFL) connection and a 5/8 inch sweat (SW) connection. This type of adapter is a standard component in refrigeration and HVAC service work, allowing technicians to connect flare-threaded lines or gauges to copper tubing that requires a brazed or soldered sweat joint. It is installed by licensed HVAC and refrigeration technicians during system assembly, repair, or retrofit work where mixed connection types are present.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration applications where a transition from a flare fitting to a sweat connection is required. It is commonly used when connecting refrigerant lines, manifold gauge sets, or service port fittings to copper suction or liquid lines. The 3/8 inch FFL to 5/8 inch SW configuration is a frequently encountered size combination in split-system air conditioning and refrigeration piping.
Designed as an OEM-style adapter fitting for use in residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems requiring a 3/8 inch FFL to 5/8 inch SW transition.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician. Recover all refrigerant from the system before opening any refrigerant-side connections, in accordance with EPA Section 608 regulations. The sweat end requires proper brazing or soldering with appropriate flux and filler material per applicable mechanical codes. Ensure the flare connection is properly torqued to prevent refrigerant leaks at the fitting interface.
