The JACKSON SAFETY 46442 is a replacement auto-darkening filter (ADF) designed for the TRANSLIGHT 455 flip-style welding helmet. The ADF delivers a 1/1/1/1 optical clarity rating, which indicates the highest clarity grade across all four optical performance categories defined by relevant standards. The filter covers shade ranges of 4, 5-8, and 9-13, allowing the welder to work across a wide range of welding processes without swapping lenses. The lens measures 90mm x 110mm and is a direct-fit replacement for the TRANSLIGHT 455 helmet. Installation is performed by the welder or a qualified safety equipment technician.
This ADF is suited for professional welders working in fabrication shops, construction sites, and industrial maintenance environments. The multi-shade range supports light grinding and cutting tasks at shade 4, MIG and flux-core welding in the mid range, and high-amperage TIG or stick welding at the upper shade levels. As a replacement part, it is intended for use when the original ADF in the TRANSLIGHT 455 helmet reaches end of service life or sustains damage.
Designed as a direct replacement ADF for the JACKSON SAFETY TRANSLIGHT 455 flip welding helmet. Certification compliance with ANSI Z87.1, CAN/CSA Z94.3, and CE standards applies when the filter is installed in the TRANSLIGHT 455 helmet.
ADF replacement in flip-style welding helmets should be performed by the welder or a qualified safety equipment technician following the helmet manufacturer's service instructions. Verify that the replacement ADF is fully seated and secured before returning the helmet to service. Inspect the lens frame and headgear for damage before installing the new filter. Always confirm optical clarity and shade function with a brief arc test before beginning production welding.
