The JACKSON SAFETY 23282 is an auto-darkening welding helmet designed for general-purpose MIG and flux-core welding applications. The helmet features a variable auto-darkening filter (ADF) with shade range 9 to 13, allowing the lens to adjust automatically to changing arc intensity. Two independent sensors drive the darkening response. The large viewing field of 3.78 inches x 1.65 inches provides a clear, unobstructed view of the weld puddle. Solar-powered operation with a backup battery eliminates the need for routine battery changes, making this an economical choice for production welders and trade apprentices alike.
This helmet is suited for residential and light commercial welding environments where MIG and flux-core processes are standard. It is intended for consumer and entry-level professional welders who require a reliable ADF helmet without the cost of top-tier units. Note that this helmet is not rated or intended for use with TIG welding processes. Sensitivity and delay adjustments allow the welder to tune darkening response to the specific process and ambient light conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use ADF welding helmet for general MIG and flux-core welding setups. Available packaged as 4 helmets per case (WH40 configuration).
Installation and fitting should be performed by the welder prior to use in accordance with the manufacturer instructions included with the helmet. Ensure the ADF lens is properly seated and the headgear is adjusted for a secure, balanced fit before beginning any welding operation. Always verify shade setting and sensor sensitivity are appropriate for the welding process before striking an arc. This helmet is not a substitute for face shields in grinding applications — consult applicable ANSI Z87.1 and workplace safety guidelines for full PPE requirements.
