The JACKSON SAFETY 16060 is a polycarbonate magnifying plate designed for use with welding helmets. It functions as a cheater lens, bringing the work area into sharper focus for welders who need vision correction at close range. The lens provides a 1.75 diopter magnification level and is built with scratch-resistant polycarbonate construction to hold up in demanding shop and field environments. Licensed welders, fabricators, and maintenance techs who rely on passive or auto-darkening filter welding helmets will benefit from the added visual clarity this plate provides during precision work.
This magnifier plate is intended for use inside welding helmets equipped with EQC-style filter systems. It positions toward the back of passive and auto-darkening filter (ADF) lenses, sitting between the filter and the welder's face. The design makes it well suited for production welding, pipe fitting, structural fabrication, and any application where sustained close-distance work causes eye strain. It functions similarly to reading glasses but integrates directly into the helmet for hands-free use.
Designed for use with passive and auto-darkening filter welding helmets that accept EQC-style filters. The 16060 is adaptable to all EQC filters as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by the welder or a qualified safety equipment technician. Before inserting the magnifier plate, ensure the welding helmet is removed from service and the existing filter assembly is fully accessible. The plate slides into position toward the rear of the filter stack. Verify the lens is seated securely and does not obstruct the filter's optical field before returning the helmet to use.
