The JACKSON SAFETY 14776 is a large, size 7 centering head designed for laying out structural steel, pipes, and pipe joints in the field. The tool uses an X-shaped frame combined with a calibrated angle protractor and a triple-jointed marked arm and bracket to produce fast, accurate layout lines without complex math or repeated cut-and-test cycles. It includes a soapstone crayon and works on pipe diameters from 1.5 inches to 18 inches. It also handles structural steel members up to 18 inches in both right-side-up and inverted positions. Sold as a single unit, it weighs 1.38 pounds.
This centering head is used by pipefitters, plumbers, ironworkers, and structural steel fabricators on commercial and industrial job sites. It is particularly useful when laying out tees, wyes, crosses, and elbows at any angle on round pipe or tubular steel members. The ability to handle a wide range of diameters in a single compact tool makes it a practical addition to a pipefitter or fabricator tool kit.
Designed for use on round pipe from 1.5 inches to 18 inches in diameter and structural steel members up to 18 inches.
This tool is used by pipefitters, plumbers, and structural steel workers during layout and fabrication, not during live system operation. No power source is required. Ensure all pipe or structural members are stable and secured before scribing layout lines. Replace the included soapstone crayon as needed to maintain clear, accurate marks.
