The JACKSON SAFETY 14559 is a passive filter plate designed as a replacement lens component for welding helmets. Rated at shade 9, this filter plate is constructed from polycarbonate, a material chosen for its optical clarity and impact resistance in welding environments. It serves as the primary arc-filtering lens in passive welding helmets, blocking harmful infrared and ultraviolet radiation generated during the welding arc. Licensed welding technicians, fabricators, and maintenance welders install this lens to restore or upgrade eye protection in existing helmet assemblies. The polycarbonate construction keeps the lens lightweight while meeting the optical demands of shade 9 arc welding applications.
This filter plate is engineered for use with the JACKSON SAFETY W10 and W20 Series passive welding helmets. It is suited for residential and light industrial welding scenarios where a fixed-shade passive lens is preferred over auto-darkening alternatives. Typical installation occurs during helmet maintenance or when a damaged lens needs field replacement. The plate is sold as an individual unit and fits directly into the lens carrier of compatible JACKSON SAFETY helmet frames.
Designed for use with JACKSON SAFETY W10 and W20 Series passive welding helmets as a direct replacement filter plate.
Installation is performed by qualified welding professionals or safety equipment technicians. Before replacing the lens, ensure the helmet is removed from service and the lens carrier latch or retaining frame is fully released before removing the old plate. Handle the polycarbonate lens by the edges to avoid scratching the optical surface. Verify the shade rating and physical fit against the helmet model before returning the helmet to service, in accordance with applicable ANSI Z87.1 eye and face protection standards.
