The ITM 255h10 is a 5/32-inch M2 high-speed steel jobber-length drill bit with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating and a hex shank design. The 135-degree split-point tip reduces walking on entry, allowing clean starts on metal and other hard materials without a center punch. The hex shank provides a positive grip in quick-change chucks and standard drill drivers, reducing slippage under torque. This bit is suited for electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general trade professionals who need reliable, repeatable hole quality in steel, iron, and similar materials on the job site.
The 255h10 is a jobber-length bit, making it appropriate for general-purpose drilling in sheet metal, pipe, brackets, junction boxes, and structural steel. The TiN coating extends surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge, which helps maintain sharpness over more drilling cycles compared to uncoated HSS bits. This makes it a practical choice for repetitive trade work where bit life and hole consistency matter across a full workday.
Designed for use with standard quick-change hex-shank drill chucks and conventional three-jaw chucks that accept hex-shank tooling. Suitable for drilling mild steel, sheet metal, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials.
Secure the workpiece before drilling and ensure the chuck is fully tightened on the hex shank to prevent slippage. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling harder metals to manage heat and extend bit life. Always wear appropriate eye protection when drilling metal. Dispose of worn bits properly, as damaged cutting edges increase the risk of breakage and poor hole quality.
