The ISCAR 6403834 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal turning and precision bore finishing operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It features a 6 mm (0.2362 inches) shank diameter and a minimum bore diameter of 0.2362 inches, with a maximum bore depth of 1.3386 inches. The bar is coated with TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride) under the IC908 manufacturer grade, providing thermal resistance and extended tool life in steel and cast iron applications. Overall length is 50 mm (1.97 inches). The right-hand cutting direction makes it suitable for standard bore entry configurations. Machinists and CNC operators install and index this tooling as part of routine boring operations.
This boring bar is intended for small-diameter internal boring applications where rigidity and surface finish consistency are critical. The solid carbide construction resists deflection in deep-reach scenarios relative to its bore diameter. The IC908 grade with TiAlN coating is commonly applied in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting of steel alloys, stainless steels, and cast iron at moderate to high cutting speeds. It is suited for use in production machining environments, tool rooms, and precision job shop settings where bore tolerances are tight.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide boring bar for use in CNC lathes and machining centers capable of accepting a 6 mm shank diameter toolholder or collet system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is placed in a safe, locked-out state before mounting or removing tooling. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or boring bar holder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Verify bore depth clearance and tool overhang against the workpiece setup before initiating a cutting cycle.
