The ISCAR 6402305 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built for right-hand cutting direction, it carries a TiN finish coating that extends tool life and reduces built-up edge during operation. The bar holds a minimum bore diameter of 0.1024 inches (2.60 mm) and a maximum bore depth of 0.3543 inches (9.00 mm), with an overall length of 0.9449 inches (24.00 mm) and a shank diameter of 4.00 mm. The manufacturer grade is IC228, a substrate suited for stable cutting conditions in a range of workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators install this bar when tight-tolerance small-diameter bores are required.
This boring bar is suited for small-bore internal turning applications in precision machining environments, including production shops and tool rooms. Its compact geometry makes it appropriate for Swiss-type lathes, micro-turning centers, and similar equipment that handles small-diameter workpieces. The solid carbide construction provides the rigidity needed to maintain bore geometry in applications where chatter and deflection must be minimized. Typical use cases include finishing passes on close-tolerance bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide boring bar for use in tool holders and boring bar systems that accept a 4.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the boring bar from its holder. Verify shank diameter and tool holder bore clearance before seating the bar, and confirm that runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application before beginning a cutting pass. Follow the tooling manufacturer guidelines for clamping torque on set screws or collet-style holders.
