The ISCAR 6200468 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the HFPN2002 insert style designation and is manufactured in ISCAR grade IC808, a submicron carbide grade with a PVD-applied AlTiN, TiAlN, and TiN multilayer coating. The insert delivers a 0.0787-inch (2.00 mm) cutting width, a positive 7-degree rake angle, and a self-grip holding method for secure toolholder retention. A corner radius of 0.0079 inches (0.20 mm) is ground on the cutting edge. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators running production turning operations across a wide range of workpiece materials.
The HFPN2002 IC808 belongs to the Heliface series and is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S. This broad material coverage makes it suitable for grooving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hardened materials, and high-temperature alloys in both roughing and finishing groove profiles. It is suited for tight-tolerance groove work where consistent width and edge integrity are critical across production runs.
Designed for use in compatible ISCAR Heliface series grooving toolholders accepting HFPN-style inserts in the 2002 size designation. Refer to ISCAR toolholder documentation to confirm proper insert-to-holder fitment before installation.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Use the appropriate ISCAR insert key or torx driver as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating self-grip inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket for debris or damage before installing a new insert. Do not exceed the cutting parameters published in the ISCAR grade application guide for IC808 on the target workpiece material.
