The ISCAR 6200374 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Heliface series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC turning centers and lathes. It carries the HFPR5004 insert style designation with an IC8250 manufacturer grade and features an Al2O3 PVD coating for improved wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert provides a 5.00 mm cutting width with a maximum depth of cut of 2.50 mm, and its positive rake geometry at 7 degrees supports efficient chip control and reduced cutting forces. Right-hand orientation is standard. This insert is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists in production and job-shop turning environments.
The 6200374 is suited for grooving stainless steel and carbon steel workpieces, aligning with ISO material groups M and P. The double-end design allows both ends of the insert to be used, extending service life. With an overall length of 19.00 mm, the insert fits clamp-style toolholders in the Heliface system. Typical applications include external grooving, face grooving, and parting on precision turned components where consistent groove width and depth repeatability are required. This insert is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with ISCAR Heliface series clamp-style grooving toolholders that accept the HFPR5004 insert size. Optimized for machining stainless steel and carbon steel workpieces corresponding to ISO material codes M and P.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate ISCAR Heliface clamping key or torque tool as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the clamp. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and repeatability.
