The ISCAR 6099444 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the PentaCut series, designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the PENTA24N239119RS geometry with a 2.39 mm (0.0941 inch) cutting width and a 1.19 mm (0.0469 inch) corner radius. The IC908 grade features a PVD coating for extended tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. The neutral lead angle and NF chipbreaker geometry support consistent chip control during cutoff and grooving passes. Installed by machinists and CNC operators, this insert is a direct, multi-use replacement suitable for universal material applications.
This insert is suited for grooving and parting operations in both production and job-shop turning environments. The IC908 PVD-coated grade is rated for universal primary workpiece materials, covering ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S, which include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys. It fits standard PentaCut series toolholders accepting the 24N insert size code. The right-hand orientation and NF chipbreaker make it appropriate for conventional OD cutoff and shallow grooving passes where controlled chip evacuation is required.

Insert installation should be performed with the machine spindle stopped and all energy sources locked out per shop safety procedures. Use the appropriate ISCAR PentaCut clamping mechanism and torque the insert screw with the manufacturer-supplied torque key - do not use standard hex keys that may over- or under-torque the clamp. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating the insert. Verify correct insert orientation (right-hand) relative to the toolholder before resuming operation.
