The ISCAR 6094659 is a solid carbide milling insert in the GSFN 2 style, designed for high-performance grooving and parting operations on CNC milling equipment. It carries the IC928 manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied TiAlN coating that provides heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The insert measures 0.0787 inches in inscribed circle diameter with a cutting edge effective length of 0.0790 inches, a corner radius of 0.0079 inches (1/128 inch), and a relief angle of 7 degrees. The positive rake geometry and honed cutting edge style promote clean chip formation and reduced cutting forces. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of the ISCAR Self Grip system.
This insert is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and S. It is suited for demanding grooving, cutoff, and face grooving applications on both roughing and finishing passes where tool life and edge stability are critical. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable across a range of setup configurations. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order, making it appropriate for shop-stock replenishment.
Designed for use with the ISCAR SGSF cutter series. Compatible with Self Grip system toolholders accepting GSFN 2 style inserts. Refer to the ISCAR catalog or toolholder documentation to confirm pocket geometry before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Use the correct ISCAR torx or insert key for the Self Grip clamping mechanism to avoid damaging the insert pocket or the clamping slot. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
