The ISCAR 6011434 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert in the Tang-Grip series, designated TAG R3J-15D with an IC808 manufacturer grade. It is designed for parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers where precision groove width and clean separation are required. The insert features a 3.00 mm (0.1180 inch) cutting width, a 15-degree right-hand lead angle, and a 7-degree relief angle. The IC808 grade uses a PVD coating process, making it well-suited for demanding parting applications across a broad range of workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators in production turning environments are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is intended for parting and cutoff operations on turning centers in both production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with Universal primary workpiece material designations, covering ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S. This range includes steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys. The J chipbreaker geometry and 0.20 mm corner radius support controlled chip formation during parting at moderate-to-aggressive feed rates. It is appropriate for residential and commercial machining operations wherever a Tang-Grip toolholder accepts the TAG R3J-15D insert profile.
Designed for use with Tang-Grip series toolholders that accept the TAG R3J-15D insert profile. Compatible with workpiece materials in ISO groups H, K, M, P, and S per ISO 13399. Material grade range is P15-P30.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a stopped, de-energized state and all spindle motion confirmed halted. Use the appropriate Tang-Grip clamping hardware and torque the clamp screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating the insert. Follow your facility safety procedures and applicable OSHA machine guarding standards when changing cutting inserts.
