The ISCAR 6011370 is a double-ended solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the Do-Grip series, identified by catalog designation DGN 3102C with manufacturer grade IC830. This insert delivers a 3.1 mm cutting width and is engineered for demanding grooving and parting operations on superalloys, steels, and stainless materials. The PVD coating process produces the IC830 grade, which provides elevated wear resistance and edge toughness at the cutting zone. A 7-degree relief angle and a 0.20 mm corner radius are built into the geometry to support clean, consistent chip formation. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert into compatible Do-Grip clamping toolholders.
This insert suits parting-off and external grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers in both production and job-shop environments. Its primary target workpiece materials are superalloys and steels, covering ISO material codes M, P, and S. The double-ended design allows both ends to be placed into service, extending useful life per insert. A maximum depth of cut of 18.00 mm makes it suitable for moderate-diameter parting work as well as recessing and grooving cycles where controlled chip evacuation is critical. The C-style chipbreaker geometry supports chip control across a range of feed rates typical for these material groups.
Designed for use with Do-Grip series clamping toolholders that accept DGN insert style with insert seat size 2. Suitable for grooving and parting operations on workpiece materials classified under ISO codes M, P, and S.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in a safe indexed position before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate Do-Grip clamping mechanism to secure the insert firmly; do not substitute non-series clamps, as improper clamping can cause insert movement or breakage under cutting loads. Verify insert seating and clamp engagement before resuming any cutting cycle.
