Installation of carbide cutoff inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped before changing tooling. Seat the insert firmly in the Tang-Grip clamp pocket and verify the clamping screw is tightened to the toolholder manufacturers specification before resuming operation. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for chips or debris that could cause improper seating and premature insert failure. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and machine-specific lockout/tagout procedures during all tooling changes.
