The ISCAR 6003585 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert in the Tang-Grip series, designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 2 mm (0.0787 inches) cutting width and a neutral lead angle with a 7-degree relief angle, making it suitable for consistent, repeatable cuts. The IC830 grade uses a PVD coating process that supports performance in demanding applications. The chipbreaker style is J, and the corner radius is 0.20 mm (0.0079 inches). This insert is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals working in production turning environments.
The ISCAR 6003585 is suited for grooving and parting operations on superalloys as well as steel and other ISO-classified workpiece materials (ISO material codes M, P, and S). It fits within the Tang-Grip insert system, which uses a clamp-style holding method for secure insert retention during high-stress cutting. Typical applications include OD grooving, cutoff operations, and shallow profiling passes on turned components in aerospace, industrial, and general machining environments. This is a single-end insert sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with ISCAR Tang-Grip series toolholders that accept TAGN-style inserts with a size code of 2. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO codes M, P, and S, including superalloys and steels.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping procedure for Tang-Grip inserts. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed to a safe position before inserting or removing the cutting insert. Use the correct torx or clamping key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert to maintain accurate tool geometry.
