The ISCAR 6003380 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert in the PentaCut series, designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert carries ISCAR grade IC908, a PVD-coated carbide grade engineered for consistent edge integrity across a broad range of workpiece materials. With a 2.00 mm cutting width (0.0787 inches) and a neutral lead angle, this insert delivers clean, symmetrical cuts without directional bias. A 0.20 mm corner radius (0.0079 inches) and a Z-style chipbreaker help control chip formation and reduce cutting forces during parting operations.
This insert is suited for grooving and parting applications in both production and job-shop turning environments. Grade IC908 with PVD coating supports cutting in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, H, and S. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard right-hand and left-hand PentaCut toolholders. A maximum depth of cut of 6.40 mm (0.2520 inches) covers most standard parting and grooving depths encountered in general machining. This insert is a multi-use tool and is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed for use with ISCAR PentaCut series toolholders that accept PENTA 24N-style inserts. Suitable for neutral-hand grooving and parting applications across multiple ISO workpiece material groups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, zero-energy state before any insert change. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated depth of cut for this insert style. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications as provided in the toolholder documentation.
