The ISCAR 6003060 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert in the Do-Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 1.4 mm cutting width (0.0551 inches), a double-ended configuration for extended tool life, and an IC1028 carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating for heat and wear resistance. The insert carries an 8-degree right-hand lead angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.16 mm corner radius. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working with stainless steel and carbon steel workpieces.
This insert is suited for parting and grooving applications on stainless steel and steel in both production and job-shop environments. The IC1028 grade is engineered for interrupted cuts and materials that generate heat at the cutting edge. The J chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation during deep parting cuts. Maximum depth of cut is 15.0 mm (0.5906 inches), making it appropriate for bar stock and tubular workpiece parting on medium to high-production turning equipment.
Designed for use in ISCAR Do-Grip series parting and grooving blade holders that accept DGR 1402 style inserts with a right-hand lead angle configuration.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. The machine spindle must be brought to a full stop and all power isolated before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate ISCAR Do-Grip clamping tool to secure the insert; do not use improvised tools that could damage the insert pocket or clamping mechanism. Verify insert seating and torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification before resuming cuts.
