The ISCAR 6003043 is a solid carbide double-ended cutoff and parting insert designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured under the Do-Grip series, this insert carries the IC1028 grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating, making it well-suited for cutting stainless steel and carbon steel at elevated speeds. The cutting width measures 3.10 mm (0.1220 inches), with a maximum depth of cut of 18.00 mm (0.7087 inches). The right-hand lead angle of 6 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle support clean chip evacuation and reduced insert deflection during deep parting cuts. Machining professionals and toolroom operators rely on this insert for consistent dimensional accuracy in high-production turning environments.
This insert is intended for parting and cutoff applications in both production and job-shop turning operations. The IC1028 grade is formulated for performance on stainless steel (ISO M) and carbon steel (ISO P) workpiece materials, covering a broad range of common turning stock. The J-style chipbreaker geometry helps control chip formation during interrupted and continuous parting cuts. It fits toolholders designed for the Do-Grip DGR insert series and is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units per purchase.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series DGR-style toolholders. Compatible with workpiece materials designated ISO M (stainless steel) and ISO P (carbon steel). Material grades C5 and C6 apply.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and all energy sources locked out per standard machine safety procedures. Use the correct Do-Grip clamping tool to seat the insert fully before applying cutting loads. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper seating and avoid premature edge failure. Toolroom technicians and CNC machinists should verify insert orientation and lead angle direction match the programmed toolpath before running the first part.
