The ISCAR 6003024 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert from the Do-Grip series, identified by the manufacturer catalog designation DGL 2200JS-15D with grade IC908. The insert features a 2.2 mm (0.0866 inches) cutting width and a 15-degree left-hand lead angle, making it suited for right-to-left parting operations on a variety of workpiece materials. The PVD-coated IC908 grade delivers wear resistance across universal material groups including steel, stainless, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. Maximum depth of cut reaches 18.00 mm (0.7087 inches). This double-ended insert is held in place by a clamp-style toolholder and carries a 7-degree relief angle with a 0.02 mm corner radius. CNC machinists and toolroom operators working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users.
The DGL 2200JS-15D IC908 is designed for parting and grooving operations across universal workpiece material groups, designated under ISO workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. This covers carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, cast irons, heat-resistant superalloys, and hardened materials. The JS chipbreaker geometry supports controlled chip formation during cutoff passes. This insert is part of the Do-Grip series, which uses a clamp-style holding method compatible with Do-Grip toolholders designed for that insert style and size code.
Designed for use in Do-Grip series clamp-style toolholders that accept the DGL insert style with size code 2200. Confirm toolholder compatibility with the insert style, size code, and lead angle direction before installation.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping hardware specified for the Do-Grip toolholder to seat the insert without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Never run an insert that shows chipping, cracking, or excessive flank wear, as insert failure during a parting operation can damage the workpiece and toolholder.
