The ISCAR 6002748 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert designed for precision grooving and cutoff operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 3.00 mm cutting width (0.1181 inches) and a 15-degree right-hand lead angle, with a JS chipbreaker geometry optimized for superalloy workpiece materials. The insert carries the IC328 manufacturer grade with a PVD coating process, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability under demanding cutting conditions. At 15.20 mm (0.5984 inches) overall length and a corner radius of 0.02 mm, this insert is built for tight-tolerance parting applications where dimensional consistency is critical.
This insert is suited for industrial machining environments where parting and grooving of superalloys and other difficult-to-machine materials is required. It fits the Do-Grip clamping system and is held in place by a clamp-style insert holding method. The double-ended configuration supports extended service life by allowing the insert to be flipped when one cutting edge is worn. Typical users are CNC machinists and toolroom technicians working in aerospace, energy, and precision manufacturing settings.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series clamping toolholders that accept the HGR insert style with a 3000 size code and clamp holding method.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing the insert. Ensure the clamp and toolholder pocket are clean and free of chips before seating the insert, as contamination can affect insert stability and cutting geometry. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw.
