The ISCAR 6002634 is a carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the GTL-2 insert style in the Self-Grip series, it features a 2.2 mm cutting width, an 8-degree left-hand lead angle, and a 7-degree relief angle. The insert is manufactured from ISCAR IC354 carbide grade with a PVD coating, placing it in material grades C5 and C6 for cutting a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. A 0.16 mm corner radius provides a controlled edge geometry suited to precise parting cuts. This is a single-end insert held in the tool body by clamp-style clamping.
This insert is intended for cut-off and parting applications on manual or CNC turning equipment. The left-hand lead angle and GTL insert style are matched to compatible Self-Grip toolholders that accept a Size 2 insert seat. Typical use cases include production turning environments where controlled chip formation and consistent cut-off quality are required on steel, stainless, and similar materials. This insert is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Designed for use with ISCAR Self-Grip series toolholders that accept a Size 2 insert seat and a left-hand GTL-style insert.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the toolholder pocket and verify the clamp is secured before resuming cutting operations. Do not exceed the insert cutting width or depth-of-cut limits specified by the toolholder manufacturer.
