The ISCAR 6002575 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert from the Cut-Grip series, designated by manufacturer catalog number DGR 3102J-15D with grade IC354. It delivers a 3.10 mm (0.122 inch) cutting width and is engineered for parting and grooving operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces. The insert uses a self-grip holding method, seating securely in compatible Cut-Grip toolholders without additional clamping hardware. A PVD-applied TiN and TiAlN coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted cuts and continuous parting passes. The J chipbreaker geometry manages chip formation across a range of feed rates. At 0.827 inches overall length, this is a double-ended insert, offering two usable cutting edges per piece.
This insert is suited for CNC lathes and turning centers performing parting, cutoff, and deep grooving operations. It targets ISO material groups P (steel) and M (stainless steel), making it appropriate for general machining shops, production turning cells, and job shops working with ferrous alloys. The 15-degree right-hand lead angle and 7-degree relief angle are configured for right-hand cutting direction. Maximum depth of cut reaches 18.01 mm (0.709 inch), accommodating moderate to deep parting applications on bar stock and turned components.
Designed for use in ISCAR Cut-Grip series toolholders that accept DGR-style self-grip inserts with a 3102 size code. Compatible with ISO material groups P (steel) and M (stainless steel) per ISO 13399 designation. Confirm toolholder pocket dimensions and insert size code before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with indexable insert tooling. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Self-grip inserts are seated by pressing the insert into the pocket until fully engaged — do not use a hammer or excessive force, as this can damage the pocket walls or insert edge. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips, damage, or wear before each insert change.
