The ISCAR 6002510 is a solid carbide grooving insert with an IC354 manufacturer grade and a TiCN coating applied via PVD process. It carries an insert style designation of GFF with a size code of 2N, delivering a cutting width of 0.0827 inches (2.10 mm). The neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for straightforward grooving operations without directional bias. A positive rake angle of 7 degrees reduces cutting forces on the workpiece. This insert is intended for use in Self-Grip toolholding systems and is installed by machinists and CNC lathe operators working in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for grooving applications on stainless steel and steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material grades M and P. The Self-Grip holding method provides secure clamping without additional fasteners, making tool changes faster at the machine. A corner radius of 0.0079 inches (0.20 mm) helps manage stress concentration at groove edges. It is appropriate for both light production and precision grooving passes where consistent groove width and surface finish are required.
Designed for use in ISCAR Self-Grip series toolholding systems that accept GFF2N style grooving inserts. Verified compatible workpiece materials include stainless steel and steel (ISO grades M and P).
This insert is seated and retained by the Self-Grip clamping mechanism of the toolholder — no separate screw is required. Before changing inserts, ensure the machine spindle is stopped and all motion has ceased. Confirm the insert is fully seated in the pocket and the grip is engaged before resuming cuts. Machining inserts should be handled with care to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
