The ISCAR 6002443 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the ISCAR Self-Grip series, it features a 2.2 mm cutting width (0.0866 inch) and an 8-degree right-hand lead angle, making it well suited for precise, repeatable cut-off work. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide with an IC354 grade coating applied via PVD process, providing wear resistance and thermal stability when machining stainless steel and steel workpieces. It is installed and serviced by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for cut-off and parting applications on stainless steel and steel workpieces, classified under ISO material codes M and P. It fits into clamp-style Self-Grip toolholders and is a single-end insert with a right-hand orientation. Typical applications include bar-fed turning operations where consistent groove width and clean part separation are required. The 0.16 mm corner radius and 7-degree relief angle contribute to controlled chip formation and reduced tool pressure during cut-off passes.
Designed for use with ISCAR Self-Grip series clamp-style cutoff toolholders that accept GFR 2 size inserts with right-hand orientation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured in the turret before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate ISCAR clamping key or torque tool for the Self-Grip holder to avoid over-tightening or damaging the insert seat. Inspect the pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
