The ISCAR 6002439 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert in the Do-Grip series, carrying manufacturer grade IC328 with a PVD coating. It is designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert delivers a 3.10 mm (0.1220 inch) cutting width, a 6-degree right-hand lead angle, and a 7-degree relief angle, making it well suited for precision cutoff work on superalloys and other demanding workpiece materials. A double-ended design extends usable tool life per insert. The IC328 grade combines wear resistance with toughness through its PVD-applied coating, supporting consistent performance in interrupted and continuous cuts.
This insert is intended for industrial turning and parting applications where close tolerances and clean cutoff faces are required. It is primarily rated for superalloy workpiece materials but carries material grade codes C2, C3, C5, and C6, indicating suitability across a range of steel and cast-iron applications as well. The 6-degree right-hand lead angle geometry directs cutting forces away from the workpiece shoulder, reducing vibration and deflection during deep parting cuts. Maximum depth of cut is 18.00 mm (0.7087 inch). The insert is clamped in place using a compatible Do-Grip toolholder and is not designed for use in a screw-on or pin-lock seat.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series clamping toolholders that accept DGR-style inserts with a 3102 size code. Verify seat geometry and clamping configuration against the toolholder specification before installation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician on a CNC lathe or turning center. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to engage the clamp; do not over-torque the clamping screw. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure full contact and accurate runout.
