The ISCAR 6002368 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert from the Cut-Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert carries manufacturer grade IC354, a PVD-coated substrate finished with TiN and TiCN coatings for wear resistance and edge retention at elevated cutting temperatures. It features a 3.99 mm cutting width (0.1570 inches), a 0.30 mm corner radius (0.012 inches), and a 4-degree right-hand lead angle. The double-ended configuration provides two usable cutting edges per insert. This part is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 6002368 is suited for parting and grooving applications on stainless steel and carbon steel workpieces. The IC354 grade with PVD coating is particularly well matched to ISO material groups M (stainless steel) and P (steel), where edge stability and resistance to built-up edge are priorities. The self-grip holding method seats the insert directly into compatible Cut-Grip toolholders without additional clamping hardware. Typical use cases include OD parting on bar stock, groove profiling, and face grooving on turned components in both light and medium-duty cutting conditions.
Designed for use with Cut-Grip series toolholders that accept the DGR 4003 insert seat. Compatible with ISO material groups M (stainless steel) and P (steel) per the IC354 grade designation. Installation is performed by qualified CNC tooling technicians or machinists. Ensure the machine spindle is stopped and all motion is locked out before seating or removing inserts. The self-grip pocket should be inspected for chips or debris before inserting; a damaged pocket can cause insert rocking and premature edge failure. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping guidance where applicable, and verify insert seating visually before resuming cutting.
