The ISCAR 6002354 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert engineered for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the IC20 uncoated carbide grade and the J chipbreaker geometry, this double-ended insert delivers a 0.122-inch (3.10 mm) cutting width with a 6-degree right-hand lead angle and a 7-degree relief angle. The corner radius measures 0.008 inches (0.20 mm), supporting clean entry and controlled chip flow. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.709 inches (18.00 mm), the insert is suited for moderate to deep parting passes on a wide range of workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers of this tooling component.
This insert belongs to ISCAR Do-Grip series, a double-ended grooving and parting system designed for secure clamping and repeatable tool life on production turning equipment. The IC20 uncoated grade and universal primary workpiece material rating make it applicable across steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous, and high-temperature alloy materials, as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, and S. It is well suited for both light-duty parting on small-diameter stock and deeper cuts on medium-sized workpieces in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series parting and grooving toolholders that accept DGR-style double-ended inserts with a 3.10 mm cutting width.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before insert exchange. Seat the insert fully in the Do-Grip clamping pocket and verify secure engagement before resuming cutting operations. Inspect the clamping surfaces for chips or debris that could affect insert seating and dimensional repeatability. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidance for the clamping screw to avoid insert movement or pocket damage.
