The ISCAR 6000808 is a single-end carbide cutoff and grooving insert designed for use in CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the GTN style with an IC20 grade, this insert features a 3.1 mm cutting width, a neutral lead angle, and a 7-degree relief angle. The bright uncoated carbide construction suits it for grooving operations in materials aligned with C2 and C3 material grades. A small 0.20 mm corner radius helps maintain precise groove geometry. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators performing parting, cutoff, and grooving work on turned components.
The ISCAR 6000808 is suited for grooving and cutoff operations on lathes handling ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where an uncoated carbide grade is preferred. Insert size code 3 and seat size 3 make it compatible with matching GTN-style toolholders. The neutral hand orientation accommodates both left- and right-side grooving setups. This insert is sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with GTN-style grooving and cutoff toolholders accepting size 3 insert seats.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Seat the insert fully into the toolholder pocket and secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure before operation. Inspect the insert seat and clamping mechanism for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Replace the insert at first sign of chipping, edge wear, or dimensional deviation in groove width.
