The ISCAR 6000432 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the Self-Grip series standard, it uses a clamp-style holding method for positive, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders. The insert carries an IC20 carbide grade with a bright uncoated finish, making it suitable for a wide range of workpiece materials. Key cutting geometry includes a 3.00 mm cutting width, a 4-degree right-hand lead angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.20 mm corner radius. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this type of insert as a single-use cutting edge on dedicated cutoff toolholders.
This insert is intended for cut-off and parting applications where controlled chip formation and dimensional accuracy at the cutoff groove are critical. The right-hand lead angle directs cutting forces toward the chuck, which helps reduce vibration during deep grooving passes. The universal primary workpiece material designation covers steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to ISO material codes H, K, M, N, and S. It is well suited for production turning environments handling mixed-material runs.
Designed for use with ISCAR Self-Grip series cutoff and grooving toolholders that accept GFR-style inserts with a size code of 3. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO codes H, K, M, N, and S. Material grades C2 and C3 apply per standard carbide grade classifications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder secured before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate ISCAR clamping key or torque tool specified for Self-Grip toolholders; do not use makeshift tools that can damage the clamping slot or insert pocket. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and accurate cutting geometry.
