The ISCAR 6000377 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the GFN 9 insert style with a manufacturer grade of IC20 and delivers a cutting width of 9.5 mm (0.374 inches). The uncoated IC20 grade is formulated for broad material compatibility, covering steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and heat-resistant alloys. A neutral lead angle and 7-degree relief angle contribute to stable, consistent chip flow during cutoff. This insert is used by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and maintenance machining environments.
This insert fits the ISCAR Self-Grip clamping system, which secures the insert mechanically without the need for additional fasteners. It is suited for single-end use in high-volume cutoff applications on a wide range of workpiece materials. The neutral hand orientation allows straight-in parting cuts. Typical applications include cutoff of bar stock, tubing, and turned components in job shop, production, and aerospace machining settings. No coating is applied, making it well-suited for operations where a sharp, uncoated edge is preferred for non-ferrous or abrasive materials.
Designed for use with ISCAR Self-Grip series cutoff and grooving toolholders that accept the GFN 9 insert style. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, and S per ISO 13399 classification, covering hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and heat-resistant superalloys. Conforms to ISO 13399 standards.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secure in the turret before seating or removing the insert. The Self-Grip clamping system holds the insert by mechanical gripping force - confirm the insert is fully seated before resuming cutting operations. Inspect the insert seating pocket for chips or debris prior to installation to maintain proper geometry and prevent premature edge failure.
