The ISCAR 6000235 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert in the Self-Grip series, designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. This single-end insert carries the GFN style designation with a 2A size code and the IC20 manufacturer grade. It features a 2.2 mm cutting width (0.0866 inches), a neutral lead angle of 0 degrees, a 7-degree relief angle, and an A-style chipbreaker. The IC20 uncoated carbide substrate is rated for universal workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this insert in compatible Self-Grip toolholders during high-precision parting and grooving work.
This insert is suited for grooving and parting applications across a broad range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by its H, K, M, N, and S material codes. The A chipbreaker geometry supports chip control during shallow grooving passes. Its neutral hand configuration makes it adaptable to both left- and right-hand setups in the same toolholder. Typical use is in production turning environments where consistent parting depth and clean groove geometry are required.
Designed for use in ISCAR Self-Grip series toolholders that accept the GFN 2A insert style with clamp-type holding. Suitable for material grades C2 and C3 applications. Conforms to ISO 13399 standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the Self-Grip clamp pocket and verify secure clamping before resuming cuts. Do not exceed the insert's rated cutting width or apply side forces beyond the designed lead angle envelope.
