The ISCAR 6000026 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Self-Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a GFF4 insert style with an IC20 uncoated carbide grade, a 0.1575-inch (4.00 mm) cutting width, and a 0.0098-inch (0.25 mm) corner radius. The positive rake geometry at 7 degrees and neutral hand orientation make it well-suited for a wide range of workpiece materials. It is installed and changed by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for grooving, face grooving, and parting applications across universal workpiece materials, covering material grade designations C2 and C3. The GFF4 insert style and Self-Grip holding method are designed to work within compatible ISCAR Self-Grip toolholding systems. The neutral hand orientation allows use in both right-hand and left-hand grooving setups depending on the toolholder configuration. It is suited for both light and moderate material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous turning applications.
Designed for use with ISCAR Self-Grip series toolholders that accept GFF4-style inserts. Verify toolholder insert pocket specifications before installation to confirm fitment.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate insert-change tool or torx key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the Self-Grip insert securely. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or wear before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the cutting parameters specified in the ISCAR tooling catalog for this grade and geometry.
