The ISCAR 5995765 is a laydown-style threading insert engineered for external ISO metric threading operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, the IC908 grade delivers consistent edge retention across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert is designed in the 16ER style with a 1.50 mm pitch, a 3/8 inch (0.375 inch) inscribed circle, and a thickness of 0.143 inches. The right-hand cutting orientation makes it suitable for standard external thread profiles conforming to ISO standards. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC turning specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is used in external ISO metric threading applications across general manufacturing, aerospace, and precision machining environments. The IC908 grade with TiAlN PVD coating is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. Typical applications include threading steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and titanium. The 16ER insert style fits standard ISCARTHREAD toolholders designed for laydown threading inserts of the 16ER series. Thread pitch of 1.50 mm is a common coarse metric pitch used widely in industrial fastening and component threading.
Designed for use with ISCARTHREAD 16ER-series laydown threading toolholders. Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by the supplier specifications. Confirm toolholder pocket style and clamping method before installation.
Threading inserts of this type are installed and replaced by qualified machinists operating CNC lathes or manual turning centers. Power down the spindle and confirm the turret is in a safe position before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the clamping screw. Verify insert seating and edge orientation before resuming cutting operations.
