The ISCAR 5921210 is a laydown-style solid carbide threading insert designed for internal partial profile 60-degree thread cutting. Carrying the IC908 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this right-hand insert handles a thread pitch range of 48 to 16 TPI (0.50 to 1.50 mm pitch), making it a versatile choice across a wide range of internal threading operations. The 1/4-inch inscribed circle (0.2500 inches) and 0.1260-inch thickness conform to the 11IR insert size code. The M chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation during internal threading passes. This insert is installed and indexed by machinists and CNC turning center operators working in production and job-shop environments.
The 5921210 is suited for internal threading on a broad range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and heat-resistant superalloys, as reflected in its universal primary workpiece material classification and multi-code material grade coverage (C1, C2, C6, C7). It is used in CNC lathes and turning centers where a laydown insert orientation is required for internal thread forms at 60 degrees. The IC908 grade with PVD TiAlN coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability across moderate to high cutting speeds.
Designed for use in toolholders accepting 11IR-series laydown threading inserts with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle. Compatible with ISCARTHREAD series boring bars and internal threading holders configured for right-hand 60-degree partial profile inserts.
Installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop, lockout condition. Seat the insert firmly in the pocket and verify clamp torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification before resuming cutting. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination can cause incorrect seating and premature edge failure. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable ANSI or ISO tooling standards when setting up threading operations.
