The ISCAR 5902176 is a laydown threading insert designed for internal UN thread cutting at 14 threads per inch. Made from solid carbide with an IC908 grade and a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, it delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert features a right-hand cutting orientation and a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch decimal) inscribed circle. At 0.126 inches thick, it seats in standard 11IR-style toolholders. This insert is used by machinists and tool and die professionals on CNC lathes and manual threading operations requiring precision UN internal thread profiles.
This insert is suited for internal threading operations on a wide range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys. The universal primary workpiece material rating (material codes H, K, M, N, P, S) makes it a versatile option for job shops and production environments alike. It fits standard 11IR-series threading toolholders and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.

This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or clamping screw torque as specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not estimate. Verify insert seating and orientation before resuming threading operations, and confirm thread pitch with a thread gauge on the first pass.
