The ISCAR 5901966 is a laydown threading insert designed for external UN thread cutting at 24 threads per inch (TPI). Built from solid carbide with an IC908 grade and a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, it delivers wear resistance and heat management in demanding threading operations. The insert features a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch decimal) inscribed circle and a 0.1430 inch thickness. Its 16ER style and right-hand orientation make it a direct fit for standard external threading toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC operators use this insert for production threading on steel, cast iron, stainless, aluminum, and heat-resistant alloys.
