The insert measures 12.9 mm (0.508 inches) in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 1/32 inch (0.0315 inch) corner radius. The 80-degree diamond shape and negative side clearance geometry make it well suited for stable, high-speed finishing passes where surface finish and tool life are critical. CNC machinists and turning center operators typically install this insert.
This insert is intended for finishing applications on cast iron workpieces (ISO material group K) and hardened materials (ISO material group H), where high wear resistance is the primary requirement. The maximum depth of cut is 0.40 mm (0.0157 inches), confirming its role as a light-finishing insert rather than a roughing tool.
