The ISCAR 5699241 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-efficiency face and shoulder milling in non-ferrous metal applications. Carrying the ANSI designation HM90 APCR 160502R-P IC28, this insert features a parallelogram shape with a positive rake geometry and an 11-degree relief angle, reducing cutting forces and heat generation during aluminum and other non-ferrous machining operations. The IC28 uncoated (bright) grade is specifically engineered for these materials, delivering sharp, consistent edges without coating buildup concerns. With 2 cutting edges and a honed cutting edge style, it provides reliable performance in high-speed milling cycles. Installation is via screw-clamping into compatible HM90-16 series cutter bodies.
This insert is intended for use in the HELIALU series milling system, targeting non-ferrous metal workpiece materials (ISO material code N), which includes aluminum alloys, copper, brass, and similar materials. It is suited for both production shop and job shop environments running CNC machining centers performing face milling, shoulder milling, or helical interpolation operations. The right-hand cutting orientation and P-style chip breaker support controlled chip evacuation in wet or dry cutting conditions typical of aluminum component manufacturing. The insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with HM90-16 series cutter bodies. ANSI code: HM90 APCR 160502R-P IC28. ISO code: HM90 APCR 160502R-P. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
This insert is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the screw-clamping method standard to the HM90-16 cutter body series. Always de-energize the machine and engage the spindle lock before seating or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before installation to ensure proper seating and secure clamping torque per the cutter body manufacturer guidelines. Do not use damaged or chipped inserts, as improper seating can cause insert ejection during operation.
