Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians following the cutter body manufacturer torque specifications for the insert clamping screw. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing inserts. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Do not force the insert into the pocket — proper seating should require only the specified clamping torque with no lateral pressure.
