The ISCAR 5691208 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer designation APKT 100332TR-RM in grade IC928. It is a single-sided, right-hand parallelogram-style insert with an 85-degree included angle and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process. The insert measures 0.421 inches in length, 0.264 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.137 inches thick, with a corner radius of 0.126 inches. With 2 cutting edges, a positive 23-degree rake angle, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, this insert is designed for productive milling of steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is held in place by a screw and features the RM chip breaker geometry.
This insert is engineered for use in HELIMILL series tooling, specifically compatible with the HM90-10 cutter series. It suits applications in metalworking environments where high-performance milling of steel (P), stainless steel (M), and superalloys and titanium (S) workpiece materials is required. The IC928 grade with PVD TiAlN coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability suited to demanding cutting conditions. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.362 inches (8.00 mm), making it applicable to both roughing and semi-finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing will find this insert well suited to high-feed milling operations.
Designed for use in ISCAR HELIMILL series milling cutters, specifically the HM90-10 cutter series. ANSI code: APKT 100332TR-RM IC928. ISO code: APKT 100332TR-RM. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician during tool setup or insert indexing. Power down and de-energize the machine and verify the spindle is at a complete stop before handling inserts. Secure the insert using the appropriate torx or hex key for the clamping screw as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
