The ISCAR 5690618 is an OFMT 07T3-AETN milling insert in grade IC928, designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling in demanding cutting applications. The insert features an octagon shape with 8 cutting edges, a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, and a positive rake geometry with a T-Land cutting edge style. It measures 0.7114 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.1790 inches thick, with a corner radius of 0.0394 inches (1.00 mm). The insert is single-sided, neutral hand, and held in the cutter body by a screw. It is part of the HELIOCTO series and is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — material application codes P, M, and S. It is compatible with HOF-07 series cutter bodies. The maximum depth of cut is 0.1540 inches (3.90 mm), making it appropriate for light-to-medium roughing and finishing passes on ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials in both conventional and CNC milling operations. The AETN chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation across these material groups.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing inserts. Secure the insert using the appropriate torx or hex key for the HOF-07 cutter body screw seat. Inspect the pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
